Aurum Haven Medical is a solo internal medicine practice in West Hollywood focused on gender-affirming hormone therapy for trans and gender-diverse adults.
Dr. JD Fernandez is board certified in internal medicine, first author on research into the metabolic safety of GAHT, and started his training under one of the few GAHT providers practicing in Kentucky, in a region where trans adults had almost no local options.
He has clinically worked with 1000+ trans adults throughout his career and helped expand GAHT-competent primary care at UCLA Health.

The practice is currently cash-pay at $150 a month and does not currently bill insurance. In-person visits are located in West Hollywood, and telehealth appointments are available throughout California.
I’m working toward in-network status with commercial plans. Unfortunately I don’t have a date for when that process will be completed, but when I have more information I will update that here on the website.
What Membership Includes:
Evaluation for hormone therapy, with prescriptions and monitoring when clinically appropriate
Secure messaging during business hours. I aim to respond quickly; this is not for urgent or emergency needs
Pre-operative evaluation with surgical care coordination; referrals to clinicians I know and trust
Primary Care with an Internal Medicine focus
Appointments long enough to finish the conversation
And integrated lab ordering through Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp, with medication prescriptions sent to a pharmacy of your choice
